ONGOING: Wool to work/ from sheep to the unknown
2026 – Rotterdam (NL)

Ongoing, locally sourcing the materials to go from sheepswool to artwork. Starting with wool coming from Texel (Dutch island), washing, then spinning, naturally dyeing and then using it in an artwork. The (hand)spindle to spin the wool is made from clay, coming from the Brienenoord Island in Rotterdam. The water used to process the clay, and mold it, comes from the snow the fell in january. In this way I’m aiming to learn more about the artisan skill of working with wool, but also challenging myself to get to the root of these processes grounded in my own country. This project is also meant to get me in to contact with people who can teach me something about every step of the way. Connecting with other people is usually at the center of my art.
